Four Students Receive Scholarships
At 21 years of age, he was forced to quit university to help his sister's children. She had died of AIDS. Because of the Montserrat Caballé Scholarship for Ethiopia, he goes back to university, majoring in Applied Mathmatics.
These two children are his niece and nephew for whom he gave up university to ensure they had food and shelter. They have been given the scholarship as well and are now able to be in a private school and receive a proper education.
An elderly woman with her grandson. She now cares for him since her daughter, his mother, died of AIDS. He has scored very high in his testing and was in private school until his mother died. He will now be able to return to private school with the scholarship he has been awarded. He said he will do well so he can attend university.
